If I were limited to three foods for the rest of my life, I would absolutely pick burgers, pizza, and cake. I would probably also be terribly unhealthy. However, part of the appeal of burgers and pizza is that they can be made to be somewhat healthy. I have always loved burgers more than is natural. My choices here are made mainly based on things I could not live without. A life without burgers is no life at all. Similarly, I love Italian food and pizza often fulfills that itch. Finally, I love bread. It is essential. I hardly ever eat cake with icing, because I so prefer the pure bready goodness. Besides, life is not worth living if there isn’t dessert.

Although somewhat cliché, I have to say that sunrises over the ocean are the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen. They entrance me every time. I can remember a specific time, the first time I ever made the trip down to the Gulf, with family. Everyone else was still dozing, but I was wide awake. It was early morning, so I crept over to the big window overlooking the beach. The sight was breath taking. Pink and golden clouds streaking the sky, a globe of light slowly rising and throwing its beauty onto everything it touched. The sounds of gulls and the ocean crashing, that unmistakable salty aroma. The most beautiful part, however, is that it happens every single morning.

Although I know I would be tempted by the promise of early retirement and easy living, even winning the lottery could not really change what I want to do with my life. I have wanted to be a teacher my whole life, and I find the experience to be very rewarding and fulfilling. Sure, I have to put up with the administration, rules handed down by the state, snarky kids. But it is completely worth it. That said, I would be no means turn down the lottery money! I would get a nice car and buy a comfortable house. I would invest a good amount so that the money would continue to grow. I would donate some portion to those causes I love to support. And I would keep teaching, without question. As teachers often tell students, none of us go into this business for the money or prestige. In this country you are more likely to be ridiculed for being a teacher than be praised. So, that just tells you how great the non-monetary rewards must be.
