Kickball: My Fondest Memory

When I was younger I went to church every Wednesday for my youth group devotional.  While I was at church, we would always have a time to just play around as kids.  We usually would go outside and play on the softball field.  There were a number of games we would play.  My favorite though was kickball.  I was always the first person picked even though I am not the skinny person that most people select.  The reason I was picked first is because I was the only person that could ever kick a homerun, as well as control where my kick would send the ball.  Everyone knew that picking me was an automatic win.

Camping in Amsterdam

When I was a college student my parents moved into a new house.  The people that gave them the house left a lot of items including stacks upon stacks of books.  One of these books was called The Shack by William P. Young.  The book talks about a man who goes on a camping trip with his three children.  While camping his two oldest children go canoeing, while he makes breakfast and the youngest daughter colors.  The two oldest children fall out of the boat and one almost drowns.  The father saves the boy but when he comes back to the campsite he realizes that his youngest daughter has been kidnapped.  They eventually find a bloody cabin a presume her to be murdered.  The father then has a real big fall out with God, and eventually goes back to the cabin.  While at the cabin he literally has a god experience and it changes his life.  This novel changed my life the same way it changed the main characters life.  I felt a lot closer to my god after reading it.

Sports: My Show of Choice

When I watch the television I do not want to watch a lot of people speaking from their scripted material.  I like to watch sports as often as possible.  With sports you could literally watch history being made.  If I were to turn the channel to MTV I could watch a lot of people doing exactly the same thing I could look out my window and see.  If I’m going to spend my time watching the television, I am going to watch people do something I absolutely can’t.  There is no way I could dunk a basketball, throw a football 60 yards, drive a race car 200 mph, or hit a baseball 500 feet.  That is real television, not a scripted story.

What $500 Could Buy Me

If I were given $500 to spend on anything at the mall I would have a difficult choice to make.  I would have to choose between a few video games, some clothes, a new television, and a nice cell phone.  I would love to have one of the new flat screen televisions so that I could play my video games on it.  I would definitely buy the new NBA game for Xbox, it would look really good on a bigger television.  The television and the game would probably be approximately $400.  I would take the rest and buy some new shorts and a few logo t-shirts.
