Lively Oh So

If I had a dog, I would want him to be an outside dog.  However, it gets so hot here in the summer that that is not being very humane.  On the worst days, temperatures soar into the 120s. Most of my friends say that we should get the dog now, so that the dog and the baby can grow up together and get used to each other.  But what about dog years?  At what point will my child be putting this rascal down?  Well before he graduates high school.  I don’t even want to think about dealing with that. In the end, I think we will probably adopt a puppy.  I do believe that pets are good for kids as well as adults.  I will just do a lot of research to find one that doesn’t shed a lot and is okay in high temperatures, and then find him the perfect outdoor dog bed.  And he’ll definitely have to graduate obedience school to stick around here.

I love how the leaves change and fill the country side with amazing color.  There is a cool brisk in the air that energizes me and makes me long for a cup of hot apple cider.  When I think of fall, as any true Texan, I think of high school football.  It is time to break out the old quilt and huddle with my loved ones on the bleachers as the home-town heroes score another touchdown!  Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and I love getting together with family and sharing one of grandma’s famous pumpkin pies!

As my Grandma calls me, I am a Gypsy.  I have moved around a lot since college.  One of my favorite places to live was Twin Falls, Idaho.  The country side was beautiful.  It was a green valley in a desert area.  And the waterfalls, which the town was named after, were majestic.  Their beauty took my breath away.  It took a while for me to get used to the extremely cold winters, but I enjoyed the snow!  I learned to ski, although not very well.  I would say I probably did more tumbling down the mountain than skiing!  When spring would hit, the flowers would come out in full bloom and blanket the area in rich color and fragrance.

Early this morning all three of my children woke-up in good moods, which is a pleasant change.  After getting them off to school and day care, I went to work.  I love my job.  I work in a local hospital and enjoy visiting with friends and neighbors when they need a little cheer.  After work, it is back to school and daycare to pick up my children.  As it is Wednesday, we have to rush to eat and get ready for church.  I am blessed to go to a wonderful church, with an awesome preacher and caring church family.  The kids go to Bible classes, while I attend the prayer meeting.  After church we head home.  I threw the kids in the tub for a quick shower and then it is off to bed.  Finally I got a moment of peace and quiet.  But I smile as I drift off to sleep, knowing that tomorrow will be just as crazy and I will love every minute of it!
